Pat Coldrick (IRL) Monday February 25 2013
Pat Coldrick returns to play BAG at Mick Murphy's, Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare on Monday, February 25. Doors 8:30pm. Admisson is €12 on the door.
http://www.patcoldrick.com/
Born in Navan and now living in Howth Co.
Dublin, Pat Coldrick has been playing and
studying classical guitar since he was 12 years old. Initially self taught, Pat went onto study music at the College of Music in Dublin and also had the opportunity to study under world renowned guitarists David Russell and Gabriel Esterellas.
A guitarist with a classical and rock background, he writes and performs works for the guitar with a fresh, new and exciting approach. Not for Pat the 'stuffy' world of classical guitar recital; his performances are engaging and thoroughly entertaining.
His musical career includes playing guitar with hugely popular Irish band The Memories in the 1980’s. Through his session and classical work, he has achieved some of the highest honours in Feis Ceoil Awards and has made a number of appearances on national TV shows on RTE and TV3 and guested on a number of radio interviews and live performances on RTE Radio 1 and Lyric FM. He has also been invited to perform at festivals in the United States, Austria and Estonia.
Experiencing Pat Coldrick live, offers a unique opportunity to enjoy his varied repertoire and own material, in an informal, relaxed atmosphere. His album “Cayendo”, released in 2011, includes some original compositions and arrangements as well as some guitar masterpieces such as “Asturias” by Albenis and “Danza Paraguaya No.1” by Barrios. Modern day popular songs are also cleverly arranged by Pat for his live performances.
Highly recommended.

This is Amelia's first visit to Ballymore, and BAG is delighted to be bringing you new music of such high calibre. Doors 8:30pm. Admission €12 at the door.
For more details, read on, and please check out the videos below; Amelia is a superb talent - I have described her as being like Suzanne Vega, Natalie Merchant, and fellow Canadian Leonard Cohen combined. A perfect blend of voice, musicality and lyricism. Quite simply: stunning.
NEW ALBUM ‘SPECTATORS’ – REL: February 11th 2013
Intriguing, diverse, and brimming with passion **** Maverick magazine
The perfect recipe for late-night music for grown ups! Word magazine
Since the release of her first album in 2000, Curran has an impressive discography which each year have gained a number of East Coast Music Award nominations including ‘Folk Recording Of The Year’, ‘Female Recording Of The Year’, until her album triumphed over all and won the much desired Juno Award.
Amelia Curran was born to write music, a songwriter by trade, but a writer at heart, she believes language is everything.
Amelia’s acclaimed 2009 album Hunter, Hunter won her the much sought after Juno Award for Best Roots and Traditional Album. With her new album, Curran returns to the scene with ten tracks that raise the bar on her signature lyricism, but also push beyond the folk boundaries that have defined her previous releases.

Clive Barnes (IRL) Monday, February 4, 2013
Clive Barnes plays BAG at Mick Murphy's, Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare on Monday Feb 4, 2013. Doors 8:30pm. Admission: €12 on the door.

I'm delighted to welcome Clive Barnes back to BAG; Clive has been a Ballymore favourite over many years. Wexford born Clive Barnes is considered by many to be one of the best guitarists/singer songwriters to emerge from the Irish scene in many years. With four studio albums under his belt, and worldwide shows, including stages shared with such greats as The Blind Boys of Alabama, Eric Bibb, and Taj Mahal. amongst others, Clive has developed a reputation for his masterful guitar playing - particularly on the lap slide. With a rich gravelly voice, and a finely honed songwriting skill added to his great guitar playing, Clive Barnes may be as close as you'll get to an Irish artist perfecting a bluesy/roots/Americana sound. Highly recommended. Videos:http://www.youtube.com/ http://www.youtube.com/ |

The Special Consensus (USA) Monday, January 21, 2013
The Special Consensus play BAG at Mick Murphy's, Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare, Monday, January 21. Doors 8:30pm.
THE SPECIAL CONSENSUS is a superb four person acoustic bluegrass band that began performing in the Midwest in the spring of 1975.
Co-founded by tenor banjo player, Greg Cahill, the band has seen many changes in line-up over the years, but the musicianship and powerful performance have remained at the heart of this great Bluegrass band.
‘Special C’, as the band are affectionately known, have toured the world over, including previous trips to Ireland; I’m delighted to welcome them back to Ballymore on this tour, where they will present their current CD, ‘Scratch Gravel Road’.
Scratch Gravel Road is the 16th recording released by Special C. This is a “special” recording because most of the songs were given to the band by top Nashville songwriters, including Dixie and Tom T. Hall, Tim Stafford and Jon Weisberger, Brink Brinkman and Tony Rackley, Craig Market, Becky Buller and even Harley Allen and Herb Ford. The recording features the current band lineup of founder Greg Cahill, David Thomas, Rick Faris and Dustin Benson. The somewhat “epic” song about Bill Monroe, called “Monroe ,” includes guest vocal appearances by Special C alums Josh Williams and Chris Jones along with the fabulous fiddling of Stuart Duncan.

A Vibe for Larry Roddy
![]() |
| The late, great Larry Roddy. |
This is an informal event where we, friends and family of the late, great Larry Roddy, will gather to remember our friend; and by playing music, singing songs, telling stories and drinking a few pints together, we will send good vibes out to Larry and Trish.
So, if you knew Larry and Trish, or you're a BAG regular/occassional, or both, and would like to be a part of this music session, just grab an instrument if you play one, and come and join us; if you don't play, come anyway!
We'll have a grand time!

Declan Sinnott - Monday December 10
www.declansinnott.com
Declan Sinnott plays BAG at Mick Murphy's, Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare, Monday December 10. Doors 8:30pm, Show 9:15pm sharp. Admission: €12 on the door.
I am particularly pleased to welcome Declan Sinnott to BAG; he has played Ballymore before in his role as guitarslinger sideman, but this is different- for us, and for Declan.
After 30+ years in the game, Declan Sinnott has just released his first solo album.
I know: mad, isn't it? Well it's true, and it's called 'I Love The Noise It Makes'.
Given that Declan is such a renowned guitarist and producer, the title suggests his fascination with all things to do with making and recording music and sound; it could equally suggest a man at last comfortable enough with his own sound - guitar and voice - to put it out there in its own right.
Why don't you decide by coming and catching this true living legend of the Irish music scene in an intimate live setting.
This is the last BAG gig of the year; you could say we're saving the best for last!
